Some diamonds react to ultraviolet light with a glow called florescence. If a diamond remains dark, it is not florescent. The soft light emitted can be a variety of colors, although blue is the most common. When the florescence of a diamond is strong, the general aspect of the gemstone can under some light be modified and its value reduced. Florescence is always mentioned on the certificate as:
